Photography is such an interesting medium — especially in our current technology rich age.  Nearly everybody carries a camera (phone) in their back pocket and can capture images and video instantly, and just as quickly those images can be posted, shared, or emailed.  Photography is so accessible that in many ways it has become ordinary, expected.

 

I have a passion for photography and don’t think it should ever be ordinary… 

 

I am a photographer based in Folsom, CA, but work throughout northern California.  I do a little bit of everything — families, seniors, real estate, composites (cutting out the subject and adding in a new, more dynamic background), head shots, sport teams, and more recently, aerial drone video and photography.  All of my life I’ve had a passion to create — drawing, painting, building, etc..  The pursuit of that passion led me to photography.  I love everything about the creative process of photography — for me it’s so much more than just clicking a button and capturing an image — it’s about light, mood, the story (your story), beauty — it’s about making an image that you linger over, that makes you feel something.  At the same time it absolutely has to be fun — for everybody. 

 

I believe photography, like life, is a journey, a work-in-progress.  I continue to learn and grow as a photographer everyday.  Each opportunity I get to shoot and process — to create — I get better at it and come closer to the goal of making great art.  If I get the pleasure of shooting your child, your family, your house, your business, or you, we’ll collaborate, working together on what you want, and sharing what I see to be able to tell that story and create great art together.

 

It never hurts to work with good gear — I shoot with a Canon 5D mk III, Canon professional “L” lenses, and post produce all images with the most current editing software.  I shoot with natural light as well as strobes and can shoot on location or in studio.
